Cycling is a wonderful activity for so many reasons. It
saves on fuel consumption, doesn't add pollution to the air, is economical in
maintenance compared to a scooter or a car, doesn't require insurance or a
license to drive, and offers many health benefits. In fact, cycling is becoming
so important and so mainstream that many cities are now adding bike lanes to
their major roads and thoroughfares. What was once a sport to be enjoyed in a
park or back trail is now a recognized form of transportation with its own
designated routes. Inspired by the Tour de France, it lead to the development
of a GPS device that would work with an Oakley inspired pair of sunglasses to
provide essential cyclist data as well as work as a sat nav when racing. This
product will be aimed at professional cyclists to begin, with the hope that
over time it will develop into a product for amateur cyclists too. It would not
only increase the safety for the rider but also that of other cyclists when
road racing, along with using the existing protection sunglasses provide for
the cyclist from such things as wind, sun and dirt.
