Human beings have abused the natural resources over time and now there is a huge threat with the dwindling resources and there is an urgent need to conserve and try to replenish in anyway we can. In an effort to do so there are more and more gadgets and hi tech appliances that either recycle or make you aware and use the minimum energy required. Such kinds of gadgets that make people value resources and use them wisely may help them contribute greatly not only in words but in action as well. This resulted in the development of a water monitoring device that would work with the water boards water meters to produce data which is easy for the consumer to understand. The interface has been designed to be simple and clear ensuring the consumer easily understands their water usage; this device was designed for Yorkshire Water but is a concept which has the potential to work along side any water board to increase the consumer’s awareness.
